A planned sale of the Northern Beef Packers’ assets to White Oak, the beef packer’s investor, has been halted until early January due to an objection by one of its contractors. KSFY News, an ABC affiliate, reported that the sale would have gone final if White Oak met the court's requirements -- and no one objected to the sale. But, a former contractor for Northern Beef did file an objection on December 24.

The sale was denied on Dec. 27, and a court hearing is now scheduled for January 9.
