A planned sale of the Northern Beef Packers’ assets to White Oak, the beef packer’s investor, has been halted until early January due to an objection by one of its contractors.

The offer includes $4.8 million in cash and $39.5 million in debt forgiveness.

The company submitted the minimum $12.75 million bid for the plant.

A minimum bid of $12.75 million has been set by the bankrupt company.

2 people associated with the facility have been questioned by federal investigators about the plant’s financial dealings.

Under the proposal, bids would be solicited for all the beef plant's property, including fixtures, improvements, machinery, equipment and supplies.
