U.S. pork and beef exports contributed an estimated total economic impact of 15% per bushel to the value of corn and 13% per bushel to soybeans in 2022, according to the study.

U.S. pork exports, which posted a strong finish in 2022, maintained momentum in January, according to data released by USDA and compiled by USMEF. 

The trade mission team received market briefings from USDA and in-country USMEF marketing staff before touring a packing plant and several retail outlets, witnessing USMEF marketing initiatives at work in-market and attending Expo Carnes, the largest meat industry trade show in Mexico.

A wide range of U.S. beef products was promoted at the event. 

The DR’s declining pork production paved the way for increased opportunities for U.S. pork in the country’s rapidly expanding retail sector.

International sales of U.S. farm and food products reached $196 billion in 2022. 

U.S. beef exports set annual records for both volume and value in 2022, according to year-end data released by USDA and compiled by USMEF. Pork exports finished lower year-over-year but export value was the third largest on record.

The promotion capitalizes on the Central American region’s passion for the FIFA World Cup.

The trade show pavilion's purpose is to help state agriculture departments promote local food and beverage products for export.

NASDA will also conduct trade missions to Thailand, Indonesia and Kenya in 2023.
