Tyson Foods will allocate $800,000 of its donation to support Equitable Food Access grants, which aim to improve access to nutritious food among people experiencing the highest rates of food insecurity.
The food, which includes Smithfield bacon, pork chops, ribs and pork loins, will be delivered to Mercy Chefs, a Portsmouth, Va.-based nonprofit that deploys to disaster zones across America.
Brand is donating $7,500 to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund in addition to a $5,000 donation from Rudolph Foods going directly to the wellness program.
The donations will help the Los Angeles Mission and the Farmlink Project provide life-sustaining food and positively impact the lives of those most in need.
