Beginning on February 6th, Superior Farms will provide improved customer access and expanded local wholesale delivery options through its new distribution location in south Boston. Having served the Boston market for over 14 years, the new distribution center, strategically located at 115 Newmarket Square, is less than one block from their longtime facility at 155 Southhampton Street. In addition to the new location, Superior Farms is adding local delivery service, previously outsourced to freight companies. The new service will provide more frequent delivery options for local Boston and New England wholesale business.
In New York, Superior Farms’ new distribution partner, Crescent Packing will handle everything from customer service to sales and marketing of the Superior Farms brand of lamb in that metro area. Crescent Packing, founded by Rocky and Larry Cornelia, began operations in Hicksville, NY in 1984. Crescent Packing moved into its current facility in Farmingdale, New York in 2008. It is a USDA inspected plant which distributes beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal, and other products. Crescent Packing also has a full-service cutting facility. The location is ideal for serving Long Island, and the five boroughs of New York, as well as New Jersey and Connecticut.
“At Superior Farms we pride ourselves on the highest quality lamb and veal products, solution-oriented sales support and attentive customer service,” said Ed Jenks, president and CEO, Superior Farms. “Through our state-of-the-art processing and nationwide distribution network, customers in Boston and New York will benefit from the freshest product available on the market, combined with the hands-on service of local representation and distribution.” Jenks also said that he expects Superior Farms to expand this high-service model with additional distribution points on the East Coast.
