Butterball Foodservice is providing more ways to serve turkey with confidence by introducing Farm to Family by Butterball—a line of no-antibiotics-ever, all-natural turkey, raised on local family-owned farms and fed an all-vegetarian diet. According to Technomic, 66 percent of consumers prefer to eat proteins raised without antibiotics and 43% are willing to pay more for it.
As a result of consumers’ increasing interest in clean ingredients and menu transparency, 76 percent of operators feel that antibiotic-free options have an impact on increasing traffic and sales. The Farm to Family line consists of turkey burgers, ground turkey, turkey breast and ready to cook roasts, and each of its eight products can be used in an assortment of menu items.
Operators seeking ways to incorporate no-antibiotics-ever turkey into their menu can draw inspiration from the following recipes:
- Philly Roasted Turkey Sandwich: Roasted turkey, provolone cheese, sautéed broccoli rabe and French bread form a filling Philly-style sandwich, which pairs well with French fries and a pale ale.
- Herbed Turkey Burger: This zesty burger made with ground turkey, thyme and garlic can serve as the base of a standout burger build.
- Roasted Turkey with Peach Bourbon BBQ Glaze: A glaze including bourbon, peach preserves and barbecue sauce gives this roasted turkey a distinctive Southern flavor.
Richie Jenkins, Senior Director of Marketing for Butterball Foodservice, said, “We added no-antibiotics-ever turkey to the Butterball portfolio because we know that many consumers and operators would rather eat and serve proteins raised without antibiotics. Everyone has different opinions about food, and we believe in giving our customers choices. The breadth of the Farm to Family line enables chefs to explore the culinary versatility of these new offerings.”
