The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA) is pleased to announce the recipients of ten $5,000 Career Development Scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year. Winners of these ten scholarships include family members of employees from FPSA member companies: R.A. Jones, FISKE Brothers, F.R. Drake Company, Provisur Technologies, United Stainless, TREIF USA, REISER, SPX Corporation, The Dennis Group and Brady Corporation. Nearly 100 applications were submitted to the independent selection committee.
“Once again we have had outstanding participation from our members in this very important program,” remarked Scott Scriven, Vice President, Slicing Business Unit, Provisur Technologies and Chairman of the Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association. “I would like to congratulate the ten winners, and also thank all those who applied. The application period for the 2016-2017 academic year will open in January 2016, and I encourage all eligible individuals to apply next year,” added Mr. Scriven.
The Foundation of FPSA established the Career Development Scholarship Program in 2005 as a unique benefit to FPSA members. It is designed to promote the career and professional development of FPSA member employees who work full time and their immediate family members.
Since its inception in 1983, the FPSA Foundation has focused on supporting the growth of the food industry. In this time, it has touched the lives of well over 2,000 individuals in the early years of their careers through its grants, scholarships and stipends. Many of these individuals are now employed in food and dairy science programs in the nation's universities, in major food, dairy and beverage processing companies, and many in FPSA member companies.
