Monogram Foods, a leading manufacturer of quality processed meats, announced plans to invest $7.2 million to construct a warehousing and distribution facility at its Martinsville, Va. manufacturing plant – an effort that will create 101 new jobs.
The new distribution facility is funded in part by a $200,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund and $365,000 from The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission.
This is the second time in six months that Monogram has moved to expand its operations in Martinsville. The first was in December 2014 with the announcement of a $36.5 million plant expansion project designed to add another 200 new jobs in the area, creating a total of 301 new jobs by the end 2016.
Monogram Foods is one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of quality meat snacks. Monogram Snacks Martinsville produces Wild Bill’s, Trail’s Best, Hannah’s, Bull’s, Bass Pro Shop’s Uncle Buck’s, Team Realtree, Enjoy, Hickory’s Best and multiple co-packaging and private label brand products.
“We love the Martinsville workforce. They are hard workers who are committed to our goal of producing great products while emphasizing people safety and excellent customer service,” said Karl Schledwitz, Chairman and CEO of Monogram Food Solutions. “This will be our fourth expansion at the Martinsville facility since we acquired the plant in 2009. We are pleased that Monogram is positioned to create quality jobs in the state of Virginia.”
