Investment group White Oak Global Advisors has completed the purchase of the former Northern Beef Packers beef plant in Aberdeen, S.D. The group announced that a new company, New Angus LLC, will operate the facility, reports the Argus Leader.
White Oak Global Advisors purchased the beef plant at a December bankruptcy auction. White Oak declined to comment further on its purchase beyond an immediate release.
In that statement, White Oak said it is “evaluating its strategic options” for the plant but “remains confident in (its) future as an operating plant.”
Brown County Commission chair Duane Sutton, who has met with White Oak representatives over the past weeks and months, said the finalized sale is good news.
“If I had to make a guess based on the conversations I’ve had with representatives of White Oak, I would guess their goal is to get the plant open and operational and use it as a ... beef plant,” Sutton said.
