Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood said Monday that he's settled the state's 2007 lawsuit against the firms that built a financially disastrous beef plant in the Yalobusha County town of Oakland.
The state of Mississippi says it is nearing a deal with a Georgia construction company that oversaw the construction pf a beef plant that was open for just three months before closing in 2004.
Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood has asked a federal court to turn over grand jury records from the U.S. government's investigation into the now-defunct beef plant as he prepares for a civil lawsuit.
