A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers is trying to bar Chinese poultry from federal school lunch and other nutrition programs because of China's poor record on food safety, reports the Los Angeles Times.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced new measures regarding the importation of poultry products and eggs into the country, reports The Monitor (Mcallen, Texas). The changes come after the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced new requirements for processed poultry meat.
