Galesburg Meat Co., a Michigan processor that has been in business for more than 40 years, had its building destroyed in a fire that occurred early Thursday morning. According to WWMT News, a neighbor noticed the building on fire at 3AM on Thursday, June 23 and called 911. There was no one in the building at the time, and there were no reported injuries. Firefighters were working to determine the cause of the fire.
The company produces a variety of smoked meats and has won awards from the Michigan Meat Association for its jerky and bacon. It also custom processes pigs, cows, game animals, lambs and deer.
