Bob Evans Restaurants' net sales were $240.5 million, down 2.4 percent compared to net sales of $246.3 million in the corresponding period last year.

The BEF Foods segment's net sales were $348.8 million in fiscal 2013, an increase of 10.8 percent, compared to $314.7 million in fiscal 2012.

The buildings were sold to New Mill Capital LLC, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm specializing in repositioning closed corporate facilities.

Consolidated net sales were $434.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2013, a 1.4 percent increase, compared to $428.3 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2012.

Bob Evans Farms Inc. announced its subsidiary, BEF Foods Inc. has acquired from Kettle Creations LLC, the Kettle Creations brand and a 100,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art food manufacturing plant located in Lima, Ohio.

The company reported consolidated operating income of $107.9 million in fiscal 2012, up from $88.5 million in fiscal 2011.

The company will close its food production plants in Springfield, Ohio and Bidwell, Ohio, in late summer 2013.

Operating income was up 19%, and net income up 31%, on improving sales trends, and ongoing success with cost initiatives.
