Starting from its Jerseyville home, Hansen Meats has spent the last decade growing and expanding its retail presence adding two additional locations in Southern Illinois.
Burgers’ Smokehouse has undergone many expansions, additions and upgrades, but the important aspects of its business haven’t changed. The company still uses its traditional curing methods; it’s just applying its traditions to a wider range of products, and at a larger scale than ever before.
The top meat companies in the Show-Me State certainly showed off their best products at this year’s Missouri Association of Meat Processors Annual Convention.
Along with the trade show, seminars and networking opportunities, the Missouri Association of Meat Processors' annual cured meats competition drew a total of 256 total entries, up from 204 at last year’s event.
Tom Eickman and his wife, Katie, represent the next in a line of family members that have overseen Eickman’s Processing, maintaining its tradition as an award-winning, widely respected meat processor.
All total, there were almost 750 products entered at the 2016 Cured Meats Championships, held during the American Association of Meat Processors’ annual convention in Omaha, Neb. in July.
