Dr. William “Bill” Dozier intends for the funds to help strengthen recruiting efforts, allowing the poultry science department to interact with local high schools and community colleges.

Five university researchers will present findings from recently completed research projects at the 2023 IPPE.

The research project provided two significant value-added findings that may lead to the development of a more effective ILT vaccine for the industry.

Findings showed that vaccination with BBS 866 or AviPro Megan Egg significantly reduced colonization by S. Reading in turkeys, indicating that these vaccines are cross-protective and could be a pre-harvest intervention strategy against this serovar.

Findings from the various diets fed to layers during post-peak and late-lay revealed various improvements on eggshell quality, feed conversion ratio and other performance parameters.
