The Board of Directors of Bar-S Foods has elected Warren Panico to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer effective January, 1, 2013. This leadership transition will have former CEO Tim Day remaining as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bar-S Foods. Day has been with Bar-S since the company was founded in 1981.
Panico will assume all responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the company and its seven brands. He has a proven track record and extensive experience as a senior executive at Bar-S Foods for the last 15 years and over 35 years in the meat industry. In his past roles, he was responsible for managing the operations and distribution functions, and more recently, for overseeing the sales and marketing activities.
The merger of Sigma Alimentos and Bar-S Foods in 2010 formed the largest processed meat company by volume in North America. Bar-S Foods continues its pledge of providing real value to the marketplace by delivering high quality products and services at the lowest possible cost. The company is currently located in the Camelback Corridor in Phoenix where it signed an 11-year lease in 2011.
“Warren’s appointment is an important step to ensure that our organization is properly structured for the future with sound leadership in place,” said Mario Paez, president and CEO, Sigma Alimentos.
Panico holds a B.A. from San Francisco State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Pacific University.
