Universal Pasteurization Co. (UPC), the newest division of Universal Cold Storage (UCS) has announced the addition of Mark Fleck to its team. He comes to UPC with over 11 years of experience in high pressure pasteurization (HPP) and packaging. The addition of Fleck will enable UPC to achieve its growth plans, which include doubling the HPP volume by 2015.
UCS/UPC Business Manager Jeff Barnard said, “Mark is a proven business professional, he will enable UPC to continue its solid growth and reach untapped markets.”
"I have great respect for the accomplishments Universal's made in HPP tolling over their first two years in business. I look forward to continuing to expand UPC's application base in the months and years ahead,” said Fleck.
Started in December of 2010, Universal Pasteurization currently has over 60 million pounds per year capacity, the largest HPP toll processing center in the U.S. With over 650,000 square feet, both companies sit under one roof, located in Lincoln, Neb. Food processors can send products to UPC/UCS for tempering/freezing, HPP’ing, pack-off and order selection in a single facility.
