CTI Foods Holding Co. LLC, a leading provider of food products to national chain restaurants, announced that it was the successful bidder for the former AFA Foods Inc. King of Prussia, Pa., ground beef processing facility. The transaction received court approval today and is expected to close next week.
Bobby Horowitz, CEO of CTI Foods, said, "As we continue to grow our company on a national basis it was important to establish a manufacturing presence on the East Coast. AFA's King of Prussia is an outstanding facility that will allow us to strengthen our already close relationships with customers and suppliers to provide a variety of high quality food products."
Last week, three of AFA's other plants were sold as part of its bankruptcy proceedings. Cargill acquired the company's Ft. Worth, Texas, plant, and FPL Food LLC and Tri West Investments LLC acquired plants in Thomasville, Ga., and Los Angeles, respectively.
