stellar june 12Stellar, an architecture, engineering, construction and mechanical services firm, has completed United States Cold Storage’s (USCS) phase-two expansion of its Turlock, Calif., refrigerated warehouse, and begun construction on Dot Foods’ expansion of its Mt. Sterling, Ill, facility.

Stellar added 98,000 square feet of warehouse space to the USCS-Turlock facility, bringing the total square footage to 300,000. New additions include a 39,000-square-foot, -20°F freezer; two convertible rooms with temperatures ranging from +35°F to -20°F; and a 9,000-square-foot, +35°F shipping dock. The facility features energy-efficient LED lighting and a shrinkage-compensating concrete-slab floor.

Stellar is building a 148,000-square-foot freezer addition for Dot Foods’ existing 465,000-square-foot Mt. Sterling warehouse. The expansion includes a -10°F freezer, two +35°F shipping and loading docks and a +35°F connecting corridor. Construction is scheduled for completion August 2012.
