During her recent tour of Iowa, Republican presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann paid a visit to Amends Packing Co. of Des Moines, even cutting some meat cuts in the facility's cutting room.
“My grandfather owned a meat market in Iowa years and years ago and it’s great to be able to come back and see what has made this state so great,” Bachmann said, reports Radio Iowa.
Bachmann said that companies like Amends suffer from excessive USDA inspection standards and other government regulations. She also criticized President Obama's recent tax proposal, stating that many businesses would suffer from an increased tax burden.
“In a company that has five or six employees, one employee is dedicated to just to deal with government rules and government regulations,” she told reporters.
