In his position, Sothmann will report to U.S. Hide, Skin and Leather Association President John Reddington and AMI Vice President of International Affairs William Westman.
Previously, Sothmann worked on international business and trade issues as a legislative aide for several members of Congress. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Purdue University in 2006 and a master's of business administration and law degree from Indiana University in 2009.
