Burke Corp., a leading manufacturer of fully cooked meat toppings and fillings, has promoted David Weber from vice president, operations to executive vice president. The board of directors has also elected him as a corporate officer. In his new position, he will serve on Burke’s board of directors and will take on a broader level of responsibilities with a higher authority level in the daily operational decision-making process, while maintaining his current responsibilities.
Johnsonville France has been awarded the “Saveur de l’annee 2006,” or the Savour of the Year Award, for the best sausage product in France. The Johnsonville “With Spices” flavor was introduced earlier in the year, and this is the third time in four years that the company has won the award.
F. Bryce Ruiz has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Ruiz Foods which is based in Dinuba, Calif., and the largest frozen Mexican food manufacturer in the United States. He has held positions in a variety of departments to include: R&D, production, quality assurance, sales and marketing. Ruiz was named vice president, corporate quality & technical services in 2003 and executive vice president, supply chain management in 2004. His grandfather founded Ruiz Foods in 1964.
