SYSCO Corp. names Kirk Halpern as president of Buckhead Beef Company of Atlanta, a SYSCO subsidiary located in Atlanta, GA. Halpern, who is currently executive vice president and chief operating officer of that operation, will assume his new duties effective immediately and continue as chief operating officer. During his professional career, Halpern has served two three-year terms on the Board of Directors of the North American Meat Processors Association.
Key Technology appoints Sonia Loeza as regional manager for Mexico. Loeza is now responsible for developing sales and providing customer support for Key Technology in Mexico, bringing the company’s automated inspection, specialized conveying, product preparation systems, and world-class service to customers in the food processing and industrial markets. Most recently, Loeza was with IDEXX Laboratories, serving as the business unit manager of Mexico, the Caribbean Basis, Central America, and the Andean Pact countries.
Kayem Foods names Larry Walrod as human resources manager and Jennifer Dimler as marketing manager. Walrod will be responsible for providing a full range of human resources support for a multi-plant operation with more than 500 personnel. Prior to joining Kayem, Walrod spent more than 15 years at Polaroid Corp. in a number of management capacities, including human resources manager, senior human resources consultant, and senior education and training specialist. Dimler will be responsible for overseeing a full range of marketing and advertising support for the company’s eight product brands. Prior to joining Kayem, Dimler served as senior new product manager at The First years, where she oversaw the development and marketing of a wide range of products, including cups, booster seats, and highchairs.
Zip-Pak welcomes two new managers for its value-added zipper business unit in Orangeburg, NY. Arthur Bucci is the business unit’s new sales manager, and David Anzini joins as new product development manager. Both enter Zip-Pak with decades of relevant experience in the plastics and packaging industries. Bucci’s responsibilities include zipper sales activities supporting the short run laminate business unit. Anzini is responsible for product development activities within the plant’s die shop, short run cell, processing engineering, and applications teams.
Randy Allen joins Dapec as a regional sales manager. Allen’s territory includes Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and portions of Arkansas. Allen will handle sales for the complete line of poultry processing equipment, demonstrating Dapec’s cost-effective cut-up, deboning and cleaning equipment, as well as promoting the quality support serves offered through Dapec’s product line. Allen has 23 years sales experience including 10 years of international sales experience covering the Caribbean and Brazil.
