MINNEAPOLIS – Cargill announced Tuesday the election of David MacLennan as chief financial officer (CFO) by Cargill’s board of directors.

The company said in a statement that MacLennan succeeds William Veazey, who passed away on May 16.

“We are very saddened by the loss of Bill Veazey. He was a valued colleague and leader,” said Greg Page, chairman and CEO. “It is with confidence that we move forward with David MacLennan. Cargill’s and Bill’s efforts in talent development and succession planning over the years allow us to have someone like David ready to take on the responsibilities of CFO.”

The company said that MacLennan joined Cargill in 1991 and has held several management and financial positions in the company. He most recently held senior leadership positions in the Cargill financial services, energy, transportation and industrial businesses.
