Birko, a leader in providing food safety solutions for the protein, further processing, produce and brew industries, is proud to announce that Kelly Green, Birko chairman of the board and president, will join the AgIndustry Leadership Council at Colorado State University.
Green, the third-generation owner of Birko, will be a part of a diverse group of industry leaders whose insight helps shape the direction of CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences. The AgIndustry Leadership Council works closely with the Dean of Agricultural Sciences to increase the college’s presence on a global level and in the agriculture industry, forecast new skills and issues vital for future agriculture business leaders’ success and evaluate its programs.
“Kelly’s deep understanding of the food safety and agricultural industry will add a valuable fresh perspective,” Birko CEO Mark Swanson said. “Her expertise and strong leadership experience make her an exceptional addition to the council.”
Previously, Green served on the North American Meat Association’s board of directors and is a former member of the Colorado Women’s Business Chamber of Commerce. Green has been recognized for her accomplishments and was named a Woman of Influence in the Food Industry by The Griffin Report of Food Marketing in 2014.
She received her MBA and bachelor’s degree from CSU and also was part of the CSU Executive MBA Board.
