Roadways around a Pilgrim’s Price processing plant in Canton, Ga., were closed after an acid spill at the facility late last week. Four people were sent to the hospital in the incident.
WSB News reports that a FedEx truck that was delivering containers of organic peroxide type F began leaking the acid. Upon discovery of the leak, company employees evacuated the facility and closed off the surrounding roads.
Two Pilgrim’s Pride employees were hospitalized after complaining of breathing issues. Two construction workers who worked at a site where the site passed were also sent to the hospital as a precaution.
