An ammonia leak at a South Carolina lunch meat plant caused the evacuation of all 200 employees on Saturday, July 8. There were no injuries reported at the Louis Rrich plant, reports U.S. News & World Report.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster said no one was injured in the leak early Saturday morning, which was isolated to a small part of the Louis Rich plant in Newberry. Foster says the leak was contained and the ammonia cleared in less than two hours. Production at the plant resumed later that day.
