Mountaire Farms plans to renovate and upgrade the former Townsend poultry processing plant in Siler City, North Carolina, creating more than 500 jobs. The privately-owned food processing company based in Delaware also acquired an adjoining property, which Mountaire plans to use to expand a hatchery. While Mountaire looks for a suitable location to build a feed mill, the company also looks to establish relationships with local chicken farmers and grain suppliers.
Mountaire employs nearly 7,000 people and operates in Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina and Arkansas. To read more of the original story, click here.
