Seaboard Triumph Foods LLC, announced that Mark Porter will join the company as chief operating officer and begin his role located in Sioux City, Iowa, this month.

Seaboard Triumph Foods, the new equal partnership, joint venture between Seaboard Foods and Triumph Foods LLC, is constructing a new, 750,000-square-foot food processing facility, designed to process more than 3 million market hogs annually operating a single shift and employing approximately 1,100 employees. The plant will be built on property in the Bridgeport West Industrial Park in Sioux City, located north of the Sioux Gateway Airport. Site work began in September 2015 and construction is expected to be completed by July 2017.

Porter comes to Seaboard Triumph Foods with a wealth of pork and broader food industry experience. His most recent assignment has been vice president, operations with AdvancePierre Foods in Enid, Okla., where he was responsible for the manufacturing network across the country. Porter’s prior professional experience includes operational roles with well-respected food companies, and eight years in the U. S. Navy as a Submarine Operations Officer.
