Dorner Mfg. Corp’s newly completed 25,000 square-foot facility expansion, which became fully operational in mid December, better positions to company to become even more responsive to customers, meet future production goals and anticipated growth in the low profile conveyor market.

The new area houses machining equipment that is used in the manufacturing of frames, stands and other conveyor components. Additionally, new product development has relocated in the new space as well. Dorner designs and builds its conveyor systems using lean manufacturing principles, meaning all conveyors are custom built at time of order to exact customer specifications. This expansion provides Dorner with additional space needed to manufacture its industrial and sanitary conveyor platforms, along with the room to design larger conveyor systems and customized engineered solutions.

This marks the first major building expansion since Dorner relocated to its present site in 2001. The expansion was necessitated by years of sustained growth of its low profile belt conveyor systems and support services. It the past two years, the company has added about 65 new employees and added a second shift to keep pace with the increase in sales.

“This expansion demonstrates Dorner’s commitment to offer an even higher level of responsiveness to our customers by providing them conveyor systems delivered on time and on budget,” said Terry Schadeberg, President, Dorner. “Our growth has been phenomenal, due in large part to our employees going the extra mile to specify, engineer, build and deliver conveyor platforms that our industrial, packaging, automation and sanitary markets need. This expansion gives us the added space to continue making that happen.”

With the expansion now completed, Dorner’s facility at 975 Cottonwood Ave., Hartland, measures about 190,000 square feet. For more information on Dorner’s new expansion, or its low profile best conveyor systems, call 800-397-8664 or visit www.dornerconveyors.com.
