A.S.K. Foods Inc., a Palmyra, Penn. establishment, is recalling approximately 414 pounds of ground stuffing product due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The product contains soy lecithin, a known allergen which is not declared on the product label. 

The following product is subject to recall: 3-pound plastic tubs of Wegman’s Herb Stuffing, With Pork and Veal, with plant EST. 9551 printed on the label.

This item was produced on May 5, 8, and 12 of 2015. The product bears the establishment number “EST. 9551” inside the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to Wegman’s Grocery stores for in-store Meat Department sales in Pennsylvania.

The problem was discovered when an FSIS inspector performing routine labeling verification noticed that the bread crumb ingredient contained soy lecithin as a processing aid. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
