Grand Papa’s Inc., a Detroit, Mich. establishment, is recalling approximately 644 pounds of fried pork skin products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced.
The pork rinds were produced on February 26, 2015 and packaged February 27, 2015. The following products are subject to recall:
- 2 oz. bags of “Grand PaPa’s Pork Rinds.”
- 2 oz. bags of “Grand PaPa’s Pork Rinds Barbecue.”
- 2 oz. bags of “Grand PaPa’s Pork Rinds Hot & Spicy.”
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “EST. 19606” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were shipped to a retail location in Michigan.
The problem was discovered during routine FSIS in-plant verification activities. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
