West Liberty Foods LLC announced that it has partnered with a non-profit group called Cool Choices to sponsor an 8-week game aimed at developing and reinforcing good habits, focusing specifically on energy conservation and sustainable actions that can save resources and money. As a leader in sustainability and verified Landfill Free Company, the company felt this was a great way to expand on activities already in place at each facility and make a fun contest amongst team members.
“The game is a great way for our team members to have a little fun with sustainability and see how a little change at work or home can make a huge impact,” says Michele Boney, Environmental Compliance Officer for West Liberty Foods.
The game is open to all West Liberty Foods team members, and each team accumulates points by making “Cool Choices” at work and home.
Established in 2009, Cool Choices inspires and assists individuals, communities and businesses to take actions reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. A Madison-based nonprofit, Cool Choices seeks to make sustainable choices the norm by making them fun, social and easy. For more information visit www.coolchoicesnetwork.org.
