The winners of NSF-GFTC’s 2014 Food Safety Recognition Awards have been announced. The awards recognize Canadian food and beverage companies and individuals helping to advance food safety.
The NSF-GFTC Food Safety Recognition Awards were presented during the Safe Food Canada 2014 Symposium. The event was hosted by NSF-GFTC (formerly GFTC, the Guelph Food Technology Centre), part of NSF International’s Global Food Division.
The winners are:
Food Safety Leadership Award: Randy Huffman, Chief Food Safety Officer and Senior Vice President, Six Sigma and Quality, Maple Leaf Foods Inc.
Food Safety Excellence Award: Winner: Oland Brewery, Nova Scotia
Finalist: Tim Hortons Ltd. Ontario
Allied Trades Food Safety Award: Winner: Sealed Air, Ontario
Finalist: TrainCan Inc., Ontario
Frank Schreurs, Global Managing Director, NSF-GFTC Consulting and Technical Services says, “There are many food safety success stories in Canada and we wanted to develop a mechanism to share and celebrate those successes and that’s why we developed the Food Safety Recognition Awards Program.”
