North American Meat Institute President and CEO Barry Carpenter to testify in Senate Ag Committee hearing

North American Meat Institute President and CEO Barry Carpenter will testify in a Senate Agriculture Committee hearing on country-of-origin labeling Thursday, June 25, at 10 a.m. Eastern.

Carpenter will be the first witness. The full witness list and a link to watch a live broadcast of the hearing may be found on the Senate Agriculture Committee Web site.

In his testimony, Carpenter will talk about the need to repeal country-of-origin labeling to bring the U.S. into compliance with WTO obligations and to avoid a possible $3 billion in annual penalties.
