Average U.S. pork production during the 12 months through February was up 1.9 percent compared with the year-ago level (most recent data).

Average U.S. poultry production during the 12 months through November is down 0.5 percent compared with the year-ago level.

Average U.S. Animal Slaughtering and Processing Production during the 12 months through September was up 1.9 percent; however, the pace of growth has slowed since January.

Average U.S. beef production in the 12 months through May was up 0.9 percent compared with last year and up for the ninth consecutive month.

Momentum is decidedly negative in the U.S. pork market at the moment.

Average poultry production for the last 12 months is at an all-time high and is up 4.4 percent from the prior year. There are, however, some tentative signs of slower growth moving through early 2016.

The Animal Slaughtering and Processing Production Index 12-month moving average rose continuously through the first three quarters of 2015 and is up 1.9 percent on a year-over-year basis.

Annual beef production is at an 18-year low, down 5.1% from one year ago.

Pork Production is up 0.7% on an annual average basis, and the industry is in a period of accelerating growth.
